I am recently very addicted to Buzzfeed's Tasty videos and recipes. I follow them on Facebook, but they also have a Pinterest and Instagram. They do have some very fun, exciting and unique recipes on there and I would heavily recommend checking them out. The one that caught my eye was the recipe for Eggs in Clouds. Now the first time I made this, it looked more like a pair of saggy boobs, which is now what they are called in my house but as you can see from the second picture, I have learned from my mistakes! And the saggy boobs did taste really nice! |
Separate the egg whites from the yolks (you need one egg for each cloud) and make sure that you keep the individual yolks whole, and separate from each other. Then, whisk the whites until they make 'stiff peaks'. If you don't want saggy boobs, you really need to make sure that you whisk fully. | Then stir in your (cooled) other ingredients- bacon, garlic and mushrooms. |
Spoon your mixture onto a baking tray, into as many 'clouds' as you have egg yolks. On each, use the back of a spoon to create a basket or well. Then place in the oven at about 220C. After about 5 mins, carefully place a yolk in each cloud and then put it back into the oven for 3-5 more mins. Then serve while still warm! I made these without bacon for my dad, who then had bacon on the side, but for everyone else, they are perfect as a stand alone breakfast! |
