A very random post I know, but Gettin Us Fed, includes everyone in my life- even my adorable rabbit!
I had recently bought her a filled basket of treats and noticed that the one that she went for first was the dried carrot. And it got me thinking- couldn't I do this myself? (NB- Carrot is very sugary for rabbits so don't overfeed these, no matter how much they beg you to!)
I used a kind of spiraliser (that I can't find anywhere on the internet) that is a screw that you screw into the vegetable and then keep turning the handle and it spiralises the carrot to make little spirals, and then with the rest, I chopped about 2mm thick. Then I placed them on a baking tray (no oil or grease) and put into the oven on the lowest setting for about 2 hours. We also propped the door open slightly to keep it really cool in there. And that was it! Easy and simple and now I have rabbit treats on hand. This can also be done with apples (another favourite of hers) so I will be doing that too!
