For some reason, bagels always make me think of this time of year- I suppose they are served at Christmas parties or something. I do love a good bagel filled with cream cheese and parma ham (I don't like salmon). Yum, yum, yum. So the other day, I was craving some bagels and was just about to pop to the local supermarket to buy some when I thought to myself- why don't I have a go at making these myself? So I did. | Start off by making bread dough- using your own favourite recipe. Leave to rise and then shape into bagel shapes. The hole is very important so don't leave these out! |
Then get some slightly sugared water boiling in a large pan. To this, add the bagels one or two at a time (depending on the size of your pot) for two to three minutes. Then place on greaseproof paper. When you have boiled all of your bagels. place into the oven.
