I realise that by posting this after Christmas, I have not given you enough preparation time to organise this for your own gifts. However we made these hampers for many of our family and friends this year, some of whom read this blog. So in the interests of not spoiling it for them, I chose not to post this until after the gifts had been given.
The Basket
The baskets and bottles were bought from Amazon, the pots were bought from a local garden centre and the tags from a craft shop. The shredded paper was literally chopped up paper that was then curled on a scissor blade (like you would with ribbon). Then we used florist's plastic (again from amazon) and ribbon to finish it up. Everything else (apart from a couple of chocolates) was completely home made and some was home grown. |

Infused Oils
Making infused oils is really easy and I think we will be experimenting with flavours and combinations in the future. Take your flavour (so we used fresh chilli and fresh garlic) and prepare it. This can include crushing, trimming or chopping but make sure that you don't have any really small pieces. Then sweat in a bit of butter in a large pan on a low heat. When you really start to smell the flavour, add the oil to the pan and leave to absorb all of the flavours. After about 10/15 mins, remove from the heat and leave to cool. Then when it has cooled completely, sieve out any bits and pour into your containers.
